hDMT and LUMC are partner in EUROoC network for joint European Organ-on-Chip research
DMT will be taking part in a European research network to promote the development of Organ-on-Chip technology. hDMT Managing Director Janny van den Eijnden – van Raaij actively participates as a member of the Advisory Board and of the Outreach Committee. Moreover, two hDMT consortium partners, University of Twente and Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), are full project partners of the EUROoC network. (more…)
Futurnanotech: spreading science into society
Futurnanotech: spreading science into society
A new cycle of cultural talks called “FuturNanotech, the vision of a fictional future” is taking place in the University of Zaragoza. The vision of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in current fiction narrative is analyzed through the scientific and cultural analysis of film and television series, in order to observe how the innovations carried out in the field of Nanoscience are transcending society and how they are projected in today’s culture.
Ignacio Ochoa, from ORCHID, participated Tuesday 30th 2018 in one of these talks with the intention of approaching science, share knowledge, and enhance the curiosity of the people for research topics in which we are currently working. This interdisciplinary event has been organized by the SAMCA Chair of Nanotechnology and the Department of Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Zaragoza.

Do not miss the latest release of Imec!
Imec has developed an organ-on-chip platform that combines imec’s high-density multi-electrode array (MEA)-chip with a microfluidic device. This new technology will allow the culture of cells in conditions that mimic human physiology as well as accurate cell reprogramming to grow complex tissue models. Another great advantage is that it is capable of performing multiple tests at the same time, consolidating itself as a powerful potential tool for cell interfacing applications. Growing organs on chip, personalized drug screening for disease modelling as well as for patient-derived cell-based therapies are some of the realities that will come hand in hand with this novel technology.
Organ On Chip Inserm Workshop
Organ On Chip Inserm Workshop
The INSERM Workshop focused on “Organ on Chip: understanding and mimicking living organisms for better treatment” took place in France in October 2018. Its main aim was to educate and spread knowledge about this technology. We are glad to announce that it was a success and it had a large influx of participants. Do you want to read more, click here.
The Health EU FET Flagship
The Health EU FET Flagship
The FET Flagship proposal ‘Health EU’ has been successfully submitted. This proposal is coordinated by Alexander Eggermont (Goustave Roussy), Adrian Ionescu (EPFL) and Albert van den Berg (UTwente). The ambitious unifying goal is empowering every citizen with a Human Avatar enabling access to comprehensive personalized healthcare, healthy lifestyle and disease prevention.
hDMT is member of the Strategic Board and coordinator of the Organ-on-Chip (OoC) pillar in this project with many partners of the European OoC network involved.
In total the Consortium consists of 110 partners, more than 75 stakeholders and hundreds of enthusiastic supporters across Europe. There is an International Advisory Board including 2 Nobel Laureates, several ex-Ministers of Health of EU countries and many international leaders and experts in Europe, USA and Canada.
